The book of Proverbs deals with the problems of life that each of us has to face. If any book in the Bible could be said to be applicable especially to young people, this one could. It is the world’s finest collection of sound, sanctified, common sense, written so that young people might not have to make some of the dreary mistakes that their elders have made.

Arnot calls the book, "Laws from heaven for life on earth." That describes its contents very concisely. A proverb is a pithy statement of wisdom, worded in a way that makes it easy to remember. Most of the proverbs consist of two clauses, presenting either similarities or contrasts.

The book is difficult to outline. Instead of presenting a continuity of thought, like a moving picture, it presents individual pictures, like colored slides.

As you read and study the verse-by-verse commentary, you’ll learn how to apply the lessons to your everyday life.

For over fifty-eight years, William MacDonald addressed the key issues of Christianity in clear and simple terms. Leaving a promising business career for the Lord Jesus, he has traveled worldwide, proclaiming the unsearchable riches of Christ. His more than eighty works are characterized by an economy of words that only comes by a major time investment in the Word. Although William MacDonald went to be with the Lord in 2008, his writing ministry continues to instruct and teach thousands of people today. For information regarding the books in this series, click on these links: Enjoying the PsalmsEnjoying the ProverbsEnjoying the Minor ProphetsEnjoying the Song of Songs, and Enjoying the Book of Acts
